Project: Disk and Memory Optimization by Buffer Size Limits in ATLAS Derivation Production
ATLAS DAOD production sees disk-space and memory usage as primary limiting factors in efforts in increasing efficiency. One avenue of improvement is limiting the basket buffer size for the entries of the branches, which will lower the memory but increase the disk-space usage. This project has us finding an optimal solution under the impression that disk-space is the higher premium whereas memory usage is accounted for in the computing budget.
